ABOUT US

The Benedictine Health Foundation, Inc., located in Kingston, New York, has supported health care services in Ulster County and the surrounding area founded on compassionate care since 1977.

The Benedictine Health Foundation funds support programs and services founded on compassionate care that provide direct financial support to those in need. Our single focus is direct assistance to patients diagnosed with cancer whose financial means limits their ability to access or receive the care that they need.

Benedictine Health Foundation’s Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund provides up to $500 of annual assistance to applicants in the form of grocery gift cards and/or fuel gift cards.

Benedictine Health Foundation’s Cancer Patient Emergency Financial Assistance Fund provides emergency financial assistance to patients with a current diagnosis of cancer. Upon approval of the application, the Foundation will pay up to $250 annually in support of essential services; payments will be made directly to the billing organization (i.e., electric, telephone, fuel oil/propane, water, or rent).

When you volunteer your time and offer your financial support to the Benedictine Health Foundation, you become part of a community of donors that makes a difference and gives back to those at risk. You will help us to build programs that inspire hope and empower people to heal when faced with a diagnosis of cancer.

Our key pillar of service is cancer care, primarily through the Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund and the Benedictine Health Foundation’s Cancer Patient Emergency Assistance Fund.

The Benedictine Health Foundation receives generous support from our community through donations and grants, and sponsorship of our special events. Our Foundation is committed to ensure that every dollar we receive is spent in accordance with the donor’s wishes and effectively addresses the health care needs of our community.

The Foundation strives to be the leading philanthropic source for compassionate care of patients diagnosed with cancer. We partner with businesses, grant makers and individuals who share our desire to improve the lives of the underserved in our area. We are proud to carry on a tradition of caring that began with the Benedictine Sisters in 1901 and continues today through our community-based foundation

We are truly grateful for the continued generosity of our donors recognized in our “Community of Donors” report. If you would like information on our Foundation’s initiatives, donor opportunities or how to become involved, please contact us.
